ride for relief

6-day tour: 20 - 26 February, 2023
1-day ride : 26 February, 2023

The 5th annual Ride for Relief, a community based charity event supporting mental illness, will reunite this month to travel from East Gippsland to the Mornington Peninsula, raising funds for a cause close to the hearts of hot springs founders Charles Davidson and Adrian Bromage.

It has never been more important local organisations and community members come together to support those living with mental health issues.

1 in 2 Australian adults experience a mental disorder during their lifetime, with the COVID 19 pandemic being a stimulant for an increased risk of anxiety and depression diagnosis.

Through Ride for Relief, we are coming together with local organisations and community members to support those living with mental health challenges.

    support our riders

Our very own Adrian Bromage will be participating in the 5th annual Ride for Relief: Supporting Mental Health this February 20 - 26, 2023.

Ride for Relief, a 6-day cycling endeavour was established to build connection and promote mental health awareness within the community.

Riding as a part of the Peninsula Hot Springs team, alongside Charles Davidson (Peninsula Hot Springs founder) and fellow East Gippslander Simon Anderson, Adrian is hopeful of raising funds and awareness for mental health.

To help Adrian reach his personal goal of $3000, and the PHS team reach their goal of $200,000, donate here

Founded by families advocating to improve the services, information and support available to people with mental health issues and their carers. The funds raised from the Ride for Relief fundraising dinner go towards vital services that span mental health, carer support, disability and community care, reaching thousands of people each year in metropolitan, remote and regional areas including Gippsland.

      the cause

Funds raised from this event will be donated to our charity partners Mentis Assist and Wellways Gippsland to promote accessible mental health and physical wellbeing opportunities that work to build strong and resilient individuals and communities.

      a unique event

Ride for Relief is a boutique event that allows a small number of participants riding and socialising together on the event day(s). This creates an intimate team environment where discussions of mental health and personal stories can be shared.

      the journey

Connect Sport Australia will assist us at each stage of the 6-day tour and 1-day ride. Dedicated volunteer members are assisting every peloton throughout the event ensuring the safety and the best condition of the riders.

      details of the event

the story behind ride for relief

Ride of Relief was established by Charles and Yuki Davidson in honour of Charles' brother and Peninsula Hot Springs co-founder, Richard. In partnership with Mentis Assist, the event aims to prompt the important discussions surrounding mental health.

      partnership opportunities 2023

We are pleased to invite partnership opportunities for Ride for Relief 2023.

The initial event in 2018, which had 18 participants in one peloton and no partner, raised over $18,000. Building on the success of Ride for Relief, in 2021 (which was postponed to March 2022 due to COVID-19 lockdowns) it introduced an epic 6-day tour which traversed over 800km from Mallacoota back to the Mornington Peninsula in addition to the original 1-day ride. It had over 60 registrations, and was very fortunately supported by 19 local and national businesses as event partners, who enabled us to accomplish our mission – fundraising over $150,000 and raising significant awareness on mental health challenges.

Learning from delivering the 4th event this year, we are more dedicated to tailoring partnership packages to match your organisation’s community engagement objectives.

We thank you for your consideration to take this opportunity to provide the most needed support in our society.
