  • In the interest of maintaining a pleasant bathing experience, Metung Hot Springs welcomes a set number of guests to bathe at any given time. We recommend you book ahead online to secure your preferred arrival time and receive the best rate.

    To make sure we care for you with the utmost consideration and expertise, planning ahead means we can better accommodate your needs. Bookings are essential for all packages and services in our Day Spa. Our treatments are often booked four to six weeks in advanced during peak times, so it’s recommended that you plan ahead. If you have some flexibility, you may like to consider booking a treatment mid-week.

  • We take full payment at time of booking for all of our packages and services. To cancel or reschedule your booking simply provide our team a minimum of 24 hours notice from your scheduled booking to receive a full refund or reschedule your booking to an alternative date.   • We understand that you may need to change your booking. Our 24 hour cancellation policy means you just need to notify us of the change 24 hours prior to your booking. Simply give us a call on (03) 5141 2300 or email us to request your changes. Cancellations or changes made within 24 hours will be charged the full amount of the booking.


  • Yes, we do have a small processing fee for all credit cards. A 1.5% charge will be applied to the total amount of your booking.

  • Our current opening hours are 9am to 6pm daily. We are open every day of the year, including public holidays.

    Please keep in mind that bookings are essential and when bathing in our pools we ask all guests to vacate the pools 15 minutes prior to closing time. This ensures you have ample time to dry, dress and depart after your visit.

  • You are welcome to stay as long as you like from your allocated arrival time until closing, however once you have left the facility, you will no longer be able to return to bathe. Bathing concludes 15 minutes before closing time.

  • There are many experiences within our Hot Springs site and most are open consistently for you to explore. From time to time due to unforeseen capacity or maintenance requirements, there may be times when certain experiences or facilities are temporarily unavailable. We do our best to ensure minimal disruption to your experience during these times, however we will notify you of any major impacts to your visit.

  • If you know you will be running late, please give our reservations team a call ahead of your booking arrival time on (03) 5141 2300 to determine how we can best accommodate. As our bathing areas may sometimes reach capacity, you may be required to wait until there is availability again before you can enter the bathing area if you are running late. Late arrivals for treatments, private bathing or dining may shorten the duration of your experience.

  • We recommend you book in advance to secure your preferred arrival time to bathe at the springs.

  • Yes, Metung Hot Springs has globally inspired bathing experiences for you to enjoy with your family at your own leisure. Guests of all ages are welcome to explore all of our bathing experiences, including infants aged 0 to 2 and children aged 3 to 15. We ask that special consideration is taken for infants and children, with breaks taken regularly and increased hydration. We also ask that children under the age of 15 are accompanied by an adult at all times.

    For school groups, one adult to every ten children is required and for family groups, we ask there be one adult to every six children.

    Please note that our Saunas and Day Spa is reserved for guests aged 16 years and over at all times.

    Glamping accommodation is reserved for guests 18 years and over and is recommended for guests seeking a private bathing experience.

  • We welcome all of our guests to enjoy Metung Hot Springs, whether you are bathing with us or just joining friends who are. Like many venues and experiences, we charge an entry fee for anyone coming through our doors. Unfortunately our team cannot issue free entry to non-bathers. Regardless of whether you are bathing with us or not, we still have to account for you as a guest at Metung Hot Springs.

    The entry fee allows you to sit amongst the scenery as you accompany your friends and enjoy the calming atmosphere. If you are not bathing with us, you may still like to enjoy the foot and hand baths or reflexology walk, or just sit in our relaxation areas or at the edge of the pools with your legs in the water.

  • While we don’t offer a private bathing experience in our bathing areas, our Hillside and Lagoon glamping accommodation packages include private bathing barrels on your personal deck overlooking the peaceful lagoon and native environment. Glamping is reserved for guests 18 years and older.

  • Our aim is to provide relaxing and balancing wellbeing experience that reconnects you with nature. All our massages are performed with a light to medium pressure. All of site geothermal bathing is included with all Day Spa treatments. We recommend bathing prior to your treatment to enjoy deeper benefits, eliminate body toxins, promote healthy skin and feel the therapeutic results more deeply.

  • Spa treatments at Metung Hot Springs are booked in conjunction with bathing. This is because we believe hot springs bathing should be part of your holistic wellness journey, and because there are several benefits associated with bathing prior to having a treatment. These benefits include muscle relaxation, enhanced skin nourishment and a smoother transition from the outside world to your treatment room.

  • We have a wi-fi hot spot located at the entry to the hot springs reception areas.


what to bring and what to leave at home

  • Footwear: To reduce the risk of slips, we recommend appropriate footwear around pools and any wet areas.

    Water bottle: We recommend that you bring your own plastic or stainless steel water bottle to drink from during your visit. There are ample water taps around to fill them up.

    Concession and discount cards

    Enhance your bathing experience by adding a towel, robe, and locker hire at reception upon arrival. Towel = $6 , Robe = $15, Locker = $8.

    We have a limited number of lockers available for hire. We recommend you minimise the valuables that you bring during your visit.

  • Prams: Due to the safety layout of Metung Hot Springs, we ask that you leave your pram in your car.

    Valuables: We recommend all valuables including jewellery are left at home or in one of our secured lockers. If you wear your jewellery in the pools, the mineral water may cause it to tarnish.

    We have a limited number of lockers available for hire. We recommend you minimise the valuables that you bring during your visit.

    Inflatable devices: Due to the size of the pools inflatable devices such as rings are not permitted in the bathing area. Safety devices such as arms bands are acceptable.

    Pets: The safety of your pet and our native environment is important to us. Therefore, we ask that you leave your pets at home or with a friend or family member.

    BYO Glassware and alcohol is not permitted at Metung Hot Springs.

  • We recommend all valuables including mobile phones and cameras are left at home or in one of our secured lockers. In order for guests to be able to share their experiences at Metung Hot Springs with loved ones, we do allow you to take photos of your group, your immediate family, and your friends, whilst bathing. That said, we do understand that there is a balance between privacy and enjoyment in these situations, so please be mindful of other guests comfort and privacy around you.

  • We want you to be comfortable while you visit us, and enjoy the benefits of the water on your skin. Modest swimsuits are the most appropriate attire in all our bathing areas. Being Sunsmart is also important with sunscreen or a rash vest.

    Please note: The mineral rich water may discolour swimwear. Street apparel such as jeans and cargo shorts are not appropriate items to be worn in the pools. Bathers are optional in our private bathing pools.

    If you are having a treatment with us, for your comfort we provide disposable underwear. Our therapists take great care to keep you properly draped throughout the treatment, respecting your privacy at all times.

  • Yes, we cool down some of our pools during summer. These pools will vary in temperature, depending on the weather. This will allow you to stay cool throughout your summer visits. Signs will be placed next to the selected pools, and various pools will remain filled with natural thermal mineral water as normal. There is a cold plunge pool to further cool down your hot spring experience.

  • Yes, geothermal bathing is extremely enjoyable when the temperature outside is cold. When your body is submerged in the warmth of the baths, you will find that having raindrops or a cool breeze sweeping across your face is extremely refreshing and invigorating. Your core temperature is also raised from the heat of the baths, so the short walk between each experience is usually quite a nice contrast.

  • In the unlikely event that a storm front produces lightning within a close proximity of our property, our team will kindly ask our guests to evacuate the pool and remain under cover until the storm has passed.

food and drink

  • There are dining options available at Metung Hot Springs, including our Bathing Ridge Coffee Hut. Grab and go options are available at Metung Country Club.

  • Whilst we do our best to cater to dietary requirements, we cannot guarantee that there won’t be traces of allergens within our kitchen. To discuss further please contact our friendly reservations team directly on (03) 5141 2300.

  • If you’ve brought your own catering for the day, you’ll find tables within the Bathing Ridge near reception where you can enjoy your own food in our beautiful native coastal garden settings. BYO alcohol and all forms of glassware are not permitted onsite.

  • Gift certificates are valid for 3 years from the date of purchase. Gift certificates cannot be extended beyond their initial validation period or be replaced if lost or stolen.

  • Redeem your gift certificate at Metung Hot Springs and Country Club or at our sister springs, Peninsula Hot Springs or Cunnamulla Hot Springs.

    Please note: The value of a gift certificate can be redeemed for any retail products, purchases in the café, bathing experiences or spa packages, however can not be redeemed for purchasing new gift certificates or cash.

  • You can purchase one or more gift certificates at these locations:

    Online: Via the "Buy Gift" page. Here you can personalise each certificate in the personalisation screen, you can opt to have your gift certificate emailed or mailed directly to you or the recipient.

    Onsite at Metung Hot Springs.

  • Certificates are non-refundable once purchased and cannot be used to purchase a new gift certificate or swapped for cash. Certificates are not transferable between guests.

    You can however use your gift certificate for its monetary value and put it towards any of our packages or experiences at Metung Hot Springs and Country Club, or you are welcome to use the balance in our onsite retail areas or online spa shop.

  • In most cases, we will not be able to offer a gift certificate extension. To discuss your extenuating circumstance, please email info@metunghotsprings.com quoting your gift certificate number and reason for requesting an extension.

medical & accessibility

  • We don’t recommend bathing in the hot spring pools during pregnancy, as you may be affected by further heat or stimulation.

    We ask that all pregnant guests consult their doctor prior to booking in. Upon arrival our reception team will kindly ask you to sign a waiver to say that you are aware of the implications of bathing whilst pregnant.

  • To make sure we are taking the most appropriate care for you, we recommend you seek medical advice before entering our pools or having a spa treatment. That way we can make sure what we offer is suitable.

    People with any of the following medical conditions are recommended to not enter the pools before first obtaining medical advice.

    If you have a medical condition involving high fever, extreme hypertension, malignant tumours and cancerous conditions, liver, kidney and circulation disorders, conditions presenting the high risk of hemorrhaging, anaemic conditions, congestive heart failure, recent stroke, or recent heart attack, pregnancy or diabetes, we may ask you to sign a waiver form that indicates you have been informed of all the information.

  • As a place of wellness, we encourage guests to reschedule their booking should they feel unwell in any way, and if required, seek the advice of a medical professional before bathing. Metung Hot Springs is a place of shared connection, so should a guest arrive showing symptoms of being unwell, we will encourage them to reschedule or cancel the booking to maintain the wellbeing of other guests.

  • Bookings are essential. With only ten glamping safari tents available at Metung Hot Springs in East Gippsland, we recommend booking in advance to secure your place and avoid disappointment.

  • We understand that you may need to change your booking. Our seven day cancellation policy means you just need to notify us of the change seven days prior to your booking. Rescheduled dates are subject to availability at the time of the request. Simply contact our friendly reservations team on (03) 5141 2300, or alternatively email to request your changes. Cancellations or changes made within 7 days will be charged the full amount of the booking.

  • Check in is at 2pm and check out is at 10am on the date of your departure.

  • Each glamping tent is reserved for guests 18 years and over and has a capacity of two adults per tent.

  • Each glamping tent comes with a king-size four poster bed. All linen and bedding is supplied.

  • Each luxury glamping tent includes kettle, coffee and tea making facilities, fridge, split system air conditioning, locker safe, walk in robe and private deck set with bathing barrels among the natural surrounds of Metung Hot Springs.

  • While we do not offer a package inclusive or spa treatments, we welcome you to enhance your Glamping or Glamping & Graze package with a signature spa treatment. To enhance your visit, contact our friendly reservations team on (03) 5141 2300.

  • Yes. Each glamping tent has a full ensuite and all basic bathroom amenities are included.
